The main mechanic that brings the game down for me is the crystal system being complete RNG and the crafting system. Amazing world building, twists and detail put into this game) Story: 10/10 (honestly a highlight considering how lazy some indie games are when it comes to story and just putting together something boring and predictable. I highly recommend this game to any fan of the genre, and without going into any spoilers, hope that with all the rich world building and open questions a sequel gets announced. I have become, in recent years, one of those gamers that just wants to throw myself into the game, have fast action and don't care too much about story but Chained Echoes managed to bring back the old me that loves a gripping storyline, characters and sitting through cutscenes. After completing the game and 100%ing the achievements, I can say that this is one of the best JRPGs I have played in quite some time.
